Get creative with Tarte – review and thoughts

I bought these Tarte products awhile back now. And to be quiet frank I’ve only used the foundation a couple of times before I got creative with it. So I thought it would be a fabulous blog post – reviews on the Tarte foundation and concealer and get creative!

I initially heard really great reviews on the Tarte foundation and I was extremely excited to get my hands on them. I also had a very pleasant process buying it as the makeup advisor at Sephora was beyond nice. (Surprisingly!) She colour matched me and gave me her opinions etc. I never really had that kind of service at Sephora. But that’s beside the point. The point is whether I liked the products or not.

I wore the foundation on its own the first time and it worked well. It definitely has a ‘clay’ texture like what it says on the packaging. It feels and looks like clay. It’s smooth and applied well on my skin. And because of the clay texture it’s applies as a medium- high coverage foundation. Which is great if you want a full coverage look as it’s buildable. However, it just didn’t work quiet well on my skin. I’m combination/oily around my t-zone and I felt like the foundation just didn’t sit on my face as long as my other foundations. The ‘other’ foundations that I used at that time would sit for a full working day (i.e 9-5).

So because it didn’t last all day for me I decided to mix it with my another foundation that I thought would work well. I applied the Forever HD foundation first then the Tarte foundation on top to lock it in. This worked quiet well for me. I didn’t want the Tarte foundation to just sit there so I decided to be a little creative. It’s always great to mix and match foundations to see what works best for you.

The Tarte concealer is one of my favourites. It’s thick in coverage and a little also goes a long long way. The concealer basically concealed everything on my face. From blemishes, redness and dark circles. I mainly used it under my eyes and there weren’t any creases either after I set it with a powder. I would highly recommend this as a ‘high coverage concealer.’

As you can see from the image above. The texture of the Tarte concealer is thicker than the foundation.

Let me know what you guys thought about this duo 🙂
